Game Title: Starry☆Sky ~in Spring~
Company: Honeybee
Release Date: 03.27.09
Genre: Otome Game, Slice of Life, All Ages
Voice: Partial Full Voice (minus you the heroine)
Trial Version Available: Nope
Summary: You attend Seigetsu Gakuen, with your two childhood friends Tohzuki and Nanami. Turns out that you’re also in the same class as the two, and are also in your second year of high school. Tohzuki is the ‘guardian’ of the three, and likes to take care of others and since he’s known you for a long time, he sees you as a younger sister. Nanami on the other hand is pretty short tempered, and quick to over react towards things, but at the same time he also has his own limitations since he has an illness since childhood. But things start to change once a transfer student from France comes, by the name of Yoh Tomoe…and approaches you with a kiss on the cheek!
Ahh nothing really much to summarize from this one haha, since it’s pretty straightforward. :P
Review:
^o^ ahh I finished this game yesterday! I’m so happy with it, and yes I’m actually pretty sad that it’s all done with and I have to wait again for the net game. Q__Q buut since it’s not too long and pretty cute I can replay parts.
Anyhoo I played it first with wanting to capture Tomoe since in the begining he was so so…so bold and just adorable, but I then changed my strategy since I accidentally ended in places with Tohzuki…and found him to be pretty awesome :D Then onto Nanami and then Tomoe game last~
So I first thought that this game would be actually MUCH shorter then what it was to be honest, since it wasn’t really the ‘main’ attraction and more of an extra sort of deal. But I really loved the art, the scenarios, the whole plot and setting the most, and heck just the menus and style of it all. Actually the game really made me think of Persona 3 a lot with the uniforms, the bold straightforward colors and menus, and well all. :X so it made me sort of wish it could change into some into some more I guess you could say “La Corda” play setup and be more interactive…LOL
I won’t go through it toooo much since it’s not THAT long, but long enough. Anyways, I loved Tohzuki’s route since actually it was light and simple but later…he gets so cute and sincere when it comes to feelings and all. :D Bleeeh maybe it’s because he reminded me SORT of like my boyfriend, but I liked Tohzuki’s responsible side and all. My favorite scene was probably the April Fool’s day scene with him.
Now Nanami was actually sort of hard to appeal me at first, but as I got through Tohzuki’s route I sort of saw it more, and played him next. And to be honest it was a little sad at times, but I loved how he gets all jealous over Tomoe a lot haha it’s so funny. Just like the feeding scene :X although I felt bad for Tomoe…
As for Tomoe, he’s so >o< bold and lovey-dovey. I really felt he was the canon character for this game, probably since he’s the whole new guy and he’s just so sweet toward the heroine. For him, he really does treat you like a princess and heck even his ending felt so canon. My favorite scene with him is probably the feeding scene since that was just SO priceless haha and it kept me so happy and fangirly through it.
That and in CGs you could totally see some of the later characters in some CGs haha xD that and you all get a “Kiss” CG of the guy which is a close shot of their face…o.o but yeah 8D
:D I totally recommend this game for anyone, and the fact that it’s not too hard to get the guys (okay so first time I failed haha but I was being indecisive) That and it comes with a CD, and if you get the special one with an omake one :D
Gameplay:
Meh nothing much to say, just pretty standard. That and once you clear both of one guys’ route, you get a freetalk in their character page!
Music:
Nice and it really fit the game, I found my favorite to be the “fighting/danger” music since it sounded so awesome and i guess dangerous? haha maybe that’s why it also made me wish the game had more put towards it. I love the opening song too~!
Seiyuu:
I don’t have too much to comment on this actually, since they were all fine to me xD and I didn’t have problems with them. But as nyororo said, Midorikawa and Sugita’s freetalk IS inaudible…I had a hard time hearing them at times and the slurring was >< mmmm…but Ono’s is fine haha
Conclusion:
I want to cosplay the girl’s uniform Q_Q;; I’ve been going through a cosplay block and there’s Fanime in May, but I totally don’t have time to make it by May since I have no sewing machine yet a lone fabric or a fabric store here in the dorms at Santa Cruz… But as I analyzed the uniform I’d be having a hellllllllll of a time doing it. That and haha I’d totally not be recognized here, or if I do…they’d be my hero. xD Well maybe I’ll think about making it during the summer or during my school year this fall since I’ll be able to bring my sewing machine then. I just love the design of it though ><
That and I TOTALLY wish that there could be some anime or more interactive game haha, but I’m pretty happy that they’ll be having drama CDs. Q_Q I totally want to rehear Tomoe’s…start Nanami’s…BAH and I have to wait for Tohzuki’s. I wonder what Honeybee is going to do after Starry☆Sky for this year…><
Anyways I didn’t go through too much and probably rushed through things I might edit later, but I totally recommend this game and for a walkthrough I used the one from luminarye which you can go through on the link on the side. You can also go there to find more Starry☆Sky fun and there’s even translations for the CDs there for you all ^^
CGs:
- Newer: [News] Under the Moon Opening
- Older: Random: Shopping Fun <3

Kya!! I’ve been waiting for this since it was announced!! T_T Sadly I’ve used my money to buy three ds otome games. Now I think I will put this on top of my list. Thanks for the review!
Hi keo 8D!
You know, about the uniform, Tomoe actually says it’s difficult for him to wear, so I am very positively sure that you are not the only one hahaha.
As for anime and interactive game, oh gosh, I think we miiiiiight have a slim chance. Seeing that there’ll be a vol. 13 info release sometime in August, maybe Honeybee will consider a game with all 13 guys into it XD. Perhaps then the game will be more interesting? Hahahaha.
P.S. I plugged your Starry Sky review into the latest entry on the sutasuka community, I hope you don’t mind XD;;; If it’s not okay, I will take it off ASAP. Thanks in advance :D!
Thanks for the review! I’ve been wondering whether or not to get it, and was going to wait for reviews on it… storyline doesn’t seem complicated, and I’m guessing the main attraction is the seiyuu… and since I’m not that big on seiyuu, so I guess I’ll pass this game ^^;
Kei Eru – No problem haha, and the game is pretty nice :D I hope you have fun playing it too!
nyororo – ToT;; yeah haha I’d love to make the guy’s uniform but bleeeeh. But I’m hoping it’d be worth the make since it’s just so pretty *O*
Oh god, that would be so awesome if they did do all 13 guys haha 8D and quite interesting if they did too
And nah it’s fine ^^ I don’t mind at all.
Sharakael – If you’re looking for a huge elaborate story, I have to say this isn’t it. But then again the main attraction is the seiyuu and the drama CDs that come with it, ^^ I’m glad my review helped though!
Oh wow you’re fast @@ The game’s still lying around somewhere while I’m busy trying to get some TMGS CGs that I just can’t get (silly best friend modes -.-)
I’m tempted to play and do a review now though thanks to yours – I have always loved French guys xD
chocochell – Haha xD not as fast as some people actually, but it wasn’t that hard of the game plus with the help of nyororo’s walkthrough.
Aww yeah then you’ll love Tomoe! He’s so cute when he slips words here and there.
hi! this game looks cute!? but when i try to find it on play-asia all that comes up is the cd? where did you find it?
thanks!
karme – ^o^ Yep it’s a really cute game haha
I’m not sure about Play-asia, but I believe I heard that they do sell it.
You could also buy them off Yes-asia and CD Japan ^^
hey, what is starry sky anyways? i mean, are starry sky is a game or visual novel? if visual novel, where i can download it? or if its a game, where i can buy it?
thank you~
chia – It’s a visual novel game? I’m not quite sure what you mean by differences unless you mean like RPG wise or something, and if you wish to buy the game you could go to play-asia/yes-asia and other various places.
Ugh, I hate it how they don’t dub the heroine, or the fact that they don’t give her a name. Ever. So they never really say her name and it ruins the mood in some cases (I feel bad for the heroine, everyone’s calling her ‘oi’ or ‘you’ and it’s only written and implied that they are saying her name)
This looks like a great game, but I’m more interested in smuttier games *drool*.
She actually does have a name (Yatose Tsukiko) xD but I changed it in the begining to my own choice. Usually the 18+ otome games voice their heroine too for that.
Haha that’s fine ^^ I like those games too~
wHoOoOo….i rEaLLy lAb iT…LOL….aCtuALLy i dUnNo wAt tO sAy…^^
[...] love confessions on the train ;;;XDD! The first game was released in March and you can hop over to white butterfly for a English [...]
Where can i download it/get it?
GAAA im such an otaku -.- lol =) i also like the look of a game called DC Girls Symphony looks made as cute as Bishis yay ^^ lol just you tube for a look of characters lol…i would be happier if this game was Yaoi but alas i must put up with normal pairings lol.
You can buy it at places like play-asia and a few other places online.
^^ I already played DCGS and I sort of actually perfer Starry Sky haha~ And although it is not yaoi, there’s tons of other yaoi games out there.
Hey, so I’m super interested in this, and *censored by author*, so I thought, why not?
However, I want to play this legitimately, which means buying the PC version of the game from somewhere, but I can only find the PSP version for sale from playasia and whatnot. Do you know where I can buy the PC version?
Thanks.
